Look Book Experiments
Today I have been the queen of procrastination. The plan was to check my business bank account and organise what money needed to be distributed where i.e ordering fabric labels, digitally printed fabric and to contact the CMT people who are going to construct my t-shirts. But this all felt extremely overwhelming today and made me realise that, whilst creativity comes easily to me, finances do not. Which begs the question, why do it? Employing someone would be the best solution but at this juncture I need to be sensible with money and overcome hurdles that intimidate me, even if it is my old enemy of the figure kind!
Prior to coming to that realisation, the focus was about my creativity. Having been inspired by recent exhibitions I have visited, especially fashion based ones, I wanted to experiment with mixed media collages that could contribute to my look book in the future.
Aside from printmaking and screen printing, which I love, mixed media work comes a close second due to the variety of materials available, allowing for a number of experimental techniques and outcomes as a result. Which really appeals to my nature as I like to explore and see what is aesthetically pleasing.
There are four t-shirts and naturally there are four 'looks', which are below.
